Citizenship Awards
The Warrenville Chamber of Commerce looks forward every
year to our Citizenship Award Ceremonies. In June, the Warrenville Chamber of Commerce presents
the Citizenship Awards to
St. Irene's School, Bower Elementary School and Clifford
Johnson Elementary School. The chamber president and the Warrenville mayor welcome the students, parents, guests, and
teachers to the assembly and to this very special
occasion.
Each year the Chamber awards 2 students from each 5th
grade class with a Citizenship Award and presents some of
the runner-ups with Honorable Mention certificates. These
students are chosen by their classmates, other adults and
their teachers. Students must show
many qualities of being a good citizen. They help their
classmates, honor their teachers, obey rules, are kind and
courteous and do well in their studies. Students work
hard each year to achieve this award. The winners were presented with framed
certificates by Mayor David Brummel. Patricia Haskins,
Chamber Executive Director, presented the winners with
their goodie bags filled with wonderful gifts donated
by local businesses. We want to thank the City and former
mayor Vivian Lund for doing such a great job
organizing and soliciting for these wonderful gifts. The
children were delighted with their bags of goodies.
